In the September 2012 issue of Mental Floss magazine (my wife is kind enough to share her subscription with me) there is a great 2 page short article on the best times to do various tasks (and achieve the results you want). The article is titled ‘Perfect Timing on page 16-17 of the issue… among the topics covered are the best times to Send an Email.

“Analysis of more than 200 million emails found that people are most likely to read their mail shortly before their lunch break.  Send one at 11 a.m. to be at the top of the pile”.

I have read lots of posts and articles about this topic from email marketing specialists – this boils it down to an easy to understand suggestion. Only trick now is, if you are sending to folks in multiple time zones.
