New Web Cam from Logitech – Easy Connection to Skype Without Computer or Other Device

Amazing times we live in to be sure!  Just heard about this today – a webcam you mount to your TV, connect the HDMI cable to your TV, connect the webcam power cord and voila’ — you can Skype with anyone* (who has a Skype account).

Now I already have a webcam (a couple to be honest) but a good Logitech HD model I use for all my webinars and when I teach web classes and private Tech Tutor sessions. But I do have to connect to a computer – this may be a hurdle for some folks who are less technically inclined and so this new move by Logitech opens the door to more folks to enable video conferencing in your family room!

Just look at the video below, provided by Logitech and you can see who the company is targeting with this new product.

*I should say you will need either a wired Ethernet connection (to the internet) or a Wi-Fi connection so the cam can connect to the Skype servers via internet service… but no computer necessary.

You can read more about the product – which has a list price of US $199. on this page: Logitech TV CAM HD for Skype
