Keyboard Shortcuts for Tabbed Web Browsing

In this morning’s Tech Tip I shared how to use Tabbed Browsing in a web browser to increase your efficiency while surfing the web.  Here are the keyboard shortcuts when using Tabbed Browsing on any of the most common web browsers (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Opera.

Mac/Apple Computer

‘Command’ + ‘t’ = Open a New browser tab

‘Command’ + ‘w’ = Close current (active) browser tab

‘Command’ + ‘t’ = Open a New browser tab

‘Command’ + ‘Tab’ = Move (highlight) the next browser tab (to the right)

‘Command’ + ‘1-8’ – Switch to show tab #1-8 (numbered left to right)

Windows Computer

‘Control’ + ‘t’ = Open a New browser tab

‘Control’ + ‘w’ = Close current (active) browser tab

‘Control’ + ‘t’ = Open a New browser tab

‘Control’ + ‘Tab’ = Move (highlight) the next browser tab (to the right)
